DO NOT SELL MY PERSONAL INFO

Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

California residents have the right to direct us not to sell or share their personal information.

Under the CCPA, "sell" is broadly defined and can include sharing personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. "Share" is also broadly defined and includes disclosing personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising (i.e., targeted advertising).

Dash Magazine does not sell your personal information for direct monetary payment. However, we may use third-party analytics or advertising services that could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of data under the CCPA's broad definitions (for example, through the use of cookies and similar technologies).

How to Exercise Your Right to Opt-Out

To exercise your right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by emailing:

1.1 Virus-Free Guarantee
All digital files and electronic products provided or distributed by Dash Magazine are guaranteed to be free from viruses, malware, spyware, or any harmful software. Contributors must ensure thorough scanning of all files before submission. Dash Magazine reserves the right to reject any files or submissions suspected of being compromised.

2. Copyright and Grant of Rights
Contributors warrant that they are the sole and exclusive owners of the copyright for all submitted materials. Upon acceptance for publication, the contributor grants Dash Magazine the following rights:

  • Exclusive First Publication Rights: An exclusive, worldwide right of first publication for a period of six (6) months from the date of initial publication. During this period, the contributor agrees not to publish or license the work to any other platform or publication.
  • Scope of Use: The non-exclusive, perpetual right to reproduce, distribute, display, and use the work for promotional and archival purposes across all Dash Magazine media platforms, including the magazine's print and digital editions, official website, social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X), newsletters, and in media kits or promotional materials for the Magazine.
  • Credit: Dash Magazine will provide proper and clear credit to the contributor in all uses of the work. It is the contributor's responsibility to provide accurate crediting information for the entire creative team.
  • Copyright Retention: The full copyright and ownership of the work shall remain with the contributor. After the exclusivity period has ended, the contributor is free to use the work for their own purposes, with the requested credit "As first seen in Dash Magazine" where appropriate.

2. Plagiarism and Originality
Dash Magazine has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unauthorized use of third-party content. Contributors must guarantee that all submitted materials are original, properly attributed, and not previously published elsewhere, unless explicitly agreed upon by the editorial team. Dash Magazine reserves the right to remove, retract, or reject content found to violate this policy.

3. Copyright and Intellectual Property (Magazine Content)
All content created by and published in Dash Magazine, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, audio, and video, is the property of Dash Magazine and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. No such content may be reproduced, copied, modified, republished, transmitted, distributed, or exploited commercially without explicit written consent from Dash Magazine.

5. Liability and Indemnification
Contributors agree to indemnify and hold Dash Magazine harmless against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from any breach of these policies or infringement of any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, and publicity rights. Contributors are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, including but not limited to model releases for any identifiable individuals and property releases for any recognizable private property featured in their submissions. Upon request, contributors must provide copies of these releases to Dash Magazine.

6. Submission and Editorial Process

  • Submission Guidelines: Submissions must be made through the official channels outlined on our website's submission page. Please include low-resolution previews, a project description, and a full list of team credits.
  • Review Period: Due to the high volume of submissions, we will only contact contributors whose work has been selected for publication. If you have not heard from us within 4-6 weeks, please assume your submission was not a fit for the current issue.
  • Editorial Discretion: The editorial team reserves the right to make final decisions on headlines, copy, cropping, and layout to align with the magazine's aesthetic and standards. Any significant edits to the substance of the work will be discussed with the contributor.

7. Compensation and Credit
Dash Magazine currently operates on a collaborative, for-exposure basis. Compensation is provided in the form of publication and prominent credit, offering contributors a platform to showcase their work to our global audience. Contributors featured in our print edition will receive a complimentary high-resolution digital copy (PDF) and also a physical copy of the magazine in which their work appears.

8. Ethical Guidelines

  • Diversity and Inclusion: We champion and prioritize content that reflects the rich diversity of our community, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, body type, and ability.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy: All submissions must be the original work of human creators. We do not accept content that is primarily generated by AI. The use of AI as a minor tool for edits or enhancements must be fully disclosed at the time of submission.
  • Prohibited Content: We will not publish content that promotes hatred, discrimination, gratuitous violence, illegal activities, or is otherwise deemed unethical by the editorial team.

9. Corrections and Retractions
Dash Magazine is committed to accuracy and transparency. If a factual error is found in published content, we will issue a correction or clarification. In cases of serious ethical or legal violations, such as plagiarism or copyright infringement discovered post-publication, we reserve the right to retract the content from all platforms.

By submitting content to or purchasing products from Dash Magazine, all parties (contributors and customers) acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to these policies, affirming their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of originality, safety, and integrity.

Dash Magazine reserves the right to update or amend these policies at any time to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
